Common Causes

- After the last manual reset of the reminder, daily cooking use has resumed and the runtime has once again accumulated to the cycle value.
- The grease filters visibly have a thick layer of yellow grease buildup, increasing airflow resistance, meaning the actual cleaning interval should have been sooner than the system-preset cycle.
- The cooking routine involves frequent stir-frying, deep-frying, and other heavy-grease operations, causing the filters to accumulate oil faster than in an average household — the system timer reminder cannot trigger earlier.
- The model supports multiple cleaning interval presets; if a shorter cleaning interval was selected at the factory or during installation, the reminder will appear more frequently.
- After a long period of non-use and then restarting the hood, the cumulative runtime has not changed, but old grease on the filters may have oxidized and hardened, requiring immediate cleaning regardless of the timer.
Self-Check Steps
- Press and hold the light button on the control panel for 3–5 seconds (or simultaneously press the fan speed button and timer button — refer to the user manual for the exact combination), and observe whether the E3 code disappears. This is the manual reset operation; once the code clears, the cumulative timer resets to zero and begins counting again.
- Turn off the range hood, remove the grease filters (typically metal mesh panels or honeycomb-style stainless steel baffle filters located at the bottom air intake of the hood), and feel the filter surface with your fingertips. Once the grease has softened, scrub gently with a soft-bristle brush following the direction of the mesh pattern. Do not use steel wool, as it will scratch the filter’s anti-corrosion coating.
