Automatic ice maker failure. The ice maker does not fill water, does not produce ice, the ice-full sensor malfunctions, or ice cubes fail to eject. The ice maker assembly has electrical or mechanical issues.
Common Causes

- Burned water inlet valve coil or blocked valve diaphragm
- Stuck or failed ice-full sensor (optical coupler or microswitch)
- Open ice ejection heater element
- Loose ice maker wiring harness connector
Self-Check Steps
- Verify the water supply valve behind the fridge is open and water pressure is adequate
- Check that the ice maker is not in the off or pause mode
- Clear the ice bin and ensure the ice-full detection arm moves freely
- Remove the ice maker assembly and clean the ice chute and mold cavity
