常见原因
- 排水泵过滤网堵塞，硬币、纽扣、发夹等异物卡在泵腔内阻碍叶轮转动。
- 排水管弯折、压扁或悬挂高度过高，导致排水阻力过大。
- 排水管出口端浸入水中或插入下水道过深形成虹吸倒吸。
- 排水泵电机故障或泵电容损坏，泵无法正常启动运转。
- 排水管路内部长期积累毛絮和洗涤剂残留，造成管径变窄。
自助排查
- 关闭电源并拔掉插头，打开洗衣机正面下方排水泵检修盖（通常为一个方形小门），放出残留水后逆时针旋出排水泵过滤器。
- 清理过滤器及泵腔内异物（硬币、发夹、绒毛等），用清水冲洗过滤器后装回并旋紧。
- 检查机身后方排水管是否有弯折或挤压，确保管路通畅，排水管最高悬挂高度不超过 100cm。
- 检查排水管出水端是否插入下水道过深，应留出空气间隙防止虹吸。若插在洗水槽边缘，确保排水管固定牢靠不会滑落。
- 清理完成后重新通电并运行一个短洗涤程序测试排水是否恢复正常。若仍报 E18，排水泵可能损坏，需联系西门子售后更换。

E18 indicates a drainage timeout fault. The washing machine was unable to drain the tub within the preset time, the water level switch did not reset to the empty-tub position, and the controller halted the program, judging the drain system to be blocked or the drain pump to be faulty.
Common Causes
- Drain pump filter is clogged — foreign objects such as coins, buttons, or hairpins are lodged in the pump cavity, blocking impeller rotation.
- Drain hose is kinked, crushed, or installed at an excessive height, creating high drainage resistance.
- The drain hose outlet end is submerged in water or inserted too deeply into the standpipe, creating a siphon effect.
- Drain pump motor failure or defective pump capacitor — the pump cannot start or run.
- Long-term accumulation of lint and detergent residue inside the drain plumbing, narrowing the pipe diameter.
Self-Check Steps
- Turn off the power and unplug the machine. Open the drain pump access cover (usually a small square door) at the lower front of the washer, drain any residual water, then unscrew the pump filter counterclockwise.
- Remove foreign objects (coins, hairpins, lint, etc.) from the filter and pump cavity. Rinse the filter with water, reinstall, and tighten clockwise.
- Inspect the drain hose behind the machine for kinks or crushing. Ensure the hose is clear and the maximum hanging height does not exceed 100cm.
- Check whether the drain hose outlet is inserted too deeply into the standpipe — an air gap must be maintained to prevent siphoning. If secured to the edge of a sink, ensure the hose is firmly clipped in place.
- After cleaning, reconnect the power and run a short wash cycle to verify drainage has returned to normal. If E18 persists, the drain pump may need replacement — contact Siemens after-sales service.
