- 断开洗碗机电源,拆卸前踢脚板(Toe Kick Panel),找到底盘底部的浮子开关组件。
- 目视检查浮子开关线束插头是否牢固插在开关本体上,轻轻拔下后观察插头内端子是否有腐蚀或变形。
- 用万用表蜂鸣档测量浮子开关两端:在浮子处于自然低位(未浮起)时开关应为断开状态(蜂鸣器不响);用手指向上顶起浮子时开关应闭合(蜂鸣器响)。两种状态下均不导通说明开关本体损坏。
- 测量线束两端(浮子端到主控板端)两根导线的通断,确认每根线单独导通良好,无断路。
- 检查浮子能否自由上下移动,确保浮子没有被污垢、霉菌或异物粘住卡死在低位。
- 若浮子开关本体和线束均正常但仍报 6-4,说明主控板检测电路问题,需联系凯膳怡售后更换主控板。

6-4 indicates that the main control board has detected that the anti-flood float switch loop is in a permanently open state (open circuit). The float switch is a normally-open microswitch — the switch is open when there is no water and closes when the float rises. However, during power-on self-test and operation, the control board continuously monitors the integrity of the float switch loop (via a small current or voltage detection circuit). If it detects a completely open loop (no conduction path at all), indicating the float switch body or harness is disconnected, it displays code 6-4 to warn that the anti-flood protection system is compromised.
Common Causes
- The float switch wiring harness connector has come unplugged from the switch body or the main control board end, physically interrupting the loop.
- The microswitch reed inside the float switch body has fractured or a solder joint has detached, creating an internal open circuit.
- The float switch wiring harness has been cut by a sharp component inside the base pan, completely severing the conductor.
- The float switch connector terminals are heavily oxidized and corroded, with total contact loss creating an open circuit.
- The float assembly is stuck to the base pan from long-term grime accumulation and cannot float freely, while the switch terminals are simultaneously corroded open.
- The float switch detection voltage divider resistor on the main control board has opened, causing a false open-circuit reading.
Self-Check Steps
- Disconnect power, remove the front toe kick panel, and locate the float switch assembly at the bottom of the base pan.
- Visually check that the float switch wiring harness connector is firmly plugged into the switch body; gently unplug it and inspect the internal terminals for corrosion or deformation.
- Use a multimeter in continuity (buzzer) mode across the float switch terminals: with the float in its natural lowered position (not floating), the switch should be open (no beep); manually push the float upward with a finger and the switch should close (beep). No conduction in either state indicates the switch body is damaged.
- Continuity-test each of the two conductors end-to-end (float end to control board end) to verify each wire individually has good continuity with no break.
- Check that the float can move freely up and down; ensure it is not stuck in the lowered position by grime, mold, or foreign debris.
- If the float switch body and harness are both normal but code 6-4 persists, the detection circuit on the main control board is faulty — contact KitchenAid after-sales service for control board replacement.
