Common Causes

1. Water stains, oil, spilled soup, or conductive liquids on the touch panel surface create a continuous false touch signal.
2. A metal object (e.g., spatula, ladle, metal bowl) placed on the panel couples with the touch sensing area, generating false triggers.
3. The touch sensing spring or conductive rubber pad is pressing too tightly or has shifted, exerting continuous pressure on the touch electrode.
4. The touch control board has been exposed to moisture or liquid ingress, causing leakage between sensing channels that keeps one channel above the trigger threshold.
5. The touch IC has been damaged by electrostatic discharge or power supply disturbance, with internal logic stuck in a triggered state.
6. The cooktop is installed on an uneven countertop, causing panel distortion that creates abnormal preload pressure between the touch springs and the panel.

Self-Check Steps

1. Disconnect the cooktop from power, unplug it, wait 1 minute, then reconnect and power on. If E8 clears, the issue was likely surface contamination causing false triggers.
2. Thoroughly wipe the touch panel with a soft damp cloth, especially around the key areas, to remove all oil, water stains, and food residue. Dry with a clean cloth. Ensure the panel is completely dry before testing again.
3. Remove any items placed on the panel surface, including cookware, utensils, condiment bottles, and cloths. Make sure nothing is contacting the panel.
4. Inspect whether liquid has seeped into the edge gaps of the panel. Use a hair dryer on the cool setting (never hot air) to dry the touch key area and panel edges.
