The robot’s front bumper collision sensor signal is abnormal, preventing correct obstacle detection. Navigation and obstacle avoidance performance are affected.

Common Causes

  1. Debris lodged between the bumper and the chassis, restricting movement
  2. Oxidized or stuck microswitch contacts inside the bumper mechanism
  3. Bumper return spring fatigued or deformed, preventing proper reset
  4. Loose bumper trim cover affecting touch sensitivity
  5. Intermittent signal due to poor contact in the sensor ribbon cable

Self-Check Steps

  1. Check whether the bumper slides in and out freely without visible binding
  2. Blow compressed air into the bumper gaps to clear internal debris
  3. Press each section of the bumper by hand and confirm an audible, consistent microswitch click
  4. Check the gap between the bumper and body for lodged objects
  5. If the bumper moves freely but E08 remains, the sensor interface on the circuit board may be at fault
