The Konka TV has detected that the internal system temperature has exceeded the safe threshold. Error code E014 indicates that the temperature sensor on the main board or power board has detected overheating. The over-temperature protection mechanism will reduce screen brightness, limit performance, or in extreme cases shut down the TV to prevent permanent damage.
Common Causes
- Dust-clogged or covered ventilation openings — the TV is placed inside a cabinet or mounted too close to the wall, preventing proper airflow.
- The thermal paste between the main chip and its heatsink has dried out, reducing heat transfer efficiency.
- High ambient temperature — the TV has been operating for extended periods in environments above 40°C.
- The cooling fan (if equipped on the model) is seized or running at abnormal speed, unable to exhaust heat effectively.
- Abnormally high backlight current causing excessive LED strip heating, conducted into the TV chassis.
- Overheating of the power board switch transistor — aging has increased on-resistance and power dissipation.
Self-Check Steps
- Immediately turn off the TV, unplug it, and allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes.
- Check the TV’s ventilation openings — use a vacuum cleaner or soft brush to clean dust and lint from the cooling grilles.
- Ensure at least 10 cm of clearance around the TV and remove any cloth or objects covering the TV.
- Reduce screen brightness to 50%-70% and observe whether the error frequency decreases.
