- 电源管理 IC(PMIC)失效,无法产生稳定的 VGH/VGL 电压。
English
Meaning
The TV panel power supply voltages are abnormal, causing screen artifacts, stripes, flickering, or no display. The E2 code indicates the TCL TV has detected that critical panel power rails (VDD, VGH, VGL, VCOM, etc.) are out of range. The T-con board or the panel’s internal DC-DC conversion circuit cannot provide the correct driving voltages.
Common Causes
- The DC-DC step-up/step-down converter chip on the T-con board is damaged.
- A short circuit in the panel’s internal Chip-On-Film (COF) flexible cables, pulling a power rail low.
- Power Management IC (PMIC) failure, unable to generate stable VGH/VGL voltages.
- The LVDS cable between the main board and T-con board is broken or poorly connected, preventing image signal transmission to the T-con.
- A shorted or leaking filter capacitor on the T-con board.
- Prolonged exposure to humid environments, causing moisture corrosion on the T-con board.
Self-Check Steps
- Power off and re-seat the LVDS cable between the main board and T-con board at both ends, ensuring a firm connection.
- Observe the screen fault pattern: full-screen vertical/horizontal lines may indicate a COF cable issue; localized artifacts more likely point to a T-con board fault.
- Gently press on the large IC chip on the T-con board — if the picture temporarily recovers while pressing, the chip has a cold solder joint and needs reflowing or replacement.
- Inspect the T-con board surface for water stains, corrosion marks, or burned areas.
- T-con board replacement is relatively straightforward (no screen disassembly required). You can purchase a matching T-con board model and replace it yourself. If the fault persists after replacement, the panel itself has a short circuit; contact TCL after-sales.
