- Burned-out circulation pump motor winding (open or short circuit)
- Damaged circulation pump relay or triac
- Dry running due to insufficient water in the sump
- Loose communication harness between the pump and main control board
Self-Check Steps
- Power off, open the dishwasher, remove both upper and lower spray arms, and clear any blocked nozzles
- Check the circulation pump inlet screen for large debris blocking water flow
- Manually turn the pump shaft (from the bottom or side) to feel for binding
- Run a wash cycle and listen — silence indicates no power to the motor; humming without rotation indicates a jam or failed capacitor
- Replace the circulation pump assembly if the motor is burned out or frequently jams
