- Pre-filter not fully snapped into position, preventing the sensor from detecting it
- Loose or misaligned micro-switch that senses pre-filter presence
- Moisture or corrosion on the sensor ribbon cable contacts increasing resistance
- Extremely dusty environment causing rapid pre-filter clogging
Self-Check Steps
- Remove the pre-filter, rinse with clean water, dry thoroughly, and reinstall
- Ensure the pre-filter clicks fully into place — listen for the latch sound
- Clean the pre-filter sensor contacts and check the micro-switch spring action
- Verify the sensor ribbon cable is firmly connected to the main board header
- Reset the filter usage timer by pressing and holding the “Reset” button for 3-5 seconds
