Common Causes
- Extremely dirty laundry (e.g., heavily soiled work clothes) causing sustained high turbidity readings.
- Sensor window covered by detergent residue, fabric softener, or lint affecting light transmission.
- Moisture ingress into the sensor affecting the optoelectronic components.
- Loose sensor connector or wiring.
- Excessive detergent creating too many suds, interfering with normal sensor detection.
Self-Check Steps
- Check if excessive detergent was used — reduce dosage for the next wash.
- Run a drum clean cycle (at 90°C or above) — high-temperature water helps clean the sensor window.
- Use a dedicated washing machine cleaner on a normal empty cycle if drum clean is not available.
- Check the sensor connector for secure attachment.
- If E2 recurs frequently and cleaning does not help, replace the turbidity sensor — contact Samsung.
