Common Causes

1. Extremely dirty laundry (e.g., heavily soiled work clothes) causing sustained high turbidity readings.
2. Sensor window covered by detergent residue, fabric softener, or lint affecting light transmission.
3. Moisture ingress into the sensor affecting the optoelectronic components.
4. Loose sensor connector or wiring.
5. Excessive detergent creating too many suds, interfering with normal sensor detection.

Self-Check Steps

1. Check if excessive detergent was used — reduce dosage for the next wash.
2. Run a drum clean cycle (at 90°C or above) — high-temperature water helps clean the sensor window.
3. Use a dedicated washing machine cleaner on a normal empty cycle if drum clean is not available.
4. Check the sensor connector for secure attachment.
