Meaning

The robot vacuum’s bumper sensor (front bumper) is stuck in the pressed position. E7 indicates the front collision buffer is always detected as being compressed; the robot thinks there is an obstacle in front at all times and cannot move forward normally.

Common Causes

1. The front bumper is stuck in the retracted position — the slide rails are jammed by dust or debris.
2. The bumper microswitch is stuck or damaged.
3. The bumper return spring is deformed or detached, preventing reset.
4. Excessive dust buildup inside the bumper restricts movement.
5. The bumper sensor signal wire connector is loose.
6. The bumper housing is deformed and jammed due to a drop or impact.

Self-Check Steps

1. Check whether the front bumper moves freely — press and release it; it should spring back. If stuck, cleaning is needed.
2. Use a small brush or tweezers to remove dust and debris from the bumper slide rail gaps.
3. Check for return springs on both sides of the bumper — reattach them if detached.
4. Gently tap the front of the robot and observe whether the bumper resets.
5. If the bumper moves freely after cleaning but E7 persists, the microswitch may be faulty. Contact TCL after-sales for bumper sensor assembly replacement.
