E6 表示室内机风扇电机故障。室内风扇电机通常为直流无刷电机(BLDC 或 PG 电机),通过控制板输出的 PWM 信号调速并利用霍尔传感器反馈转速信号形成闭环控制。当控制板向风扇电机发出运转指令后,在规定时间内未收到转速反馈信号(电机不转)、或反馈转速低于目标转速的 50%、或电机电流异常,即判定风扇电机故障并显示 E6。室内风机不运转会导致蒸发器无法有效交换热量,空调虽可以不启动内风机仅运行压缩机,但实际操作中控制板通常禁止整机运行以避免蒸发器结冰或压机液击。

常见原因

  1. 风扇电机内部的霍尔传感器(PG 脉冲发生器)损坏,无法输出转速反馈脉冲到控制板。
  2. 风扇电机轴承润滑干涸或卡死,电机通电后有嗡嗡声但转子不转或转动阻力极大。
  3. 电机绕组开路或短路——直流无刷电机内部绕组由驱动 MOSFET 供电,任一相绕组断路或相间短路都将导致电机无转矩或剧烈振动。
  4. 控制板上的风扇电机驱动电路(H 桥或三相逆变器)故障,无法向电机提供正确的驱动电压。
  5. 电机与控制板之间的线束连接器松动、端子氧化或其中一根信号线(PWM、VCC、GND、FG/Hall)断开。

自助排查

  1. 断开空调电源。打开室内机面板,找到室内风扇电机——通常为横流风扇或贯流风扇的驱动电机,位于室内机右侧。
  2. 用手拨动风扇叶轮,检查旋转是否顺畅。如果阻力极大或有卡涩感,说明电机轴承可能卡死。
  3. 拔下风扇电机与控制板之间的连接插头,检查端子是否氧化或锈蚀。用电子清洁剂清洁后重新插紧。
  4. 用万用表测量电机供电引脚(通常为 VCC 和 GND)之间的阻值,排查是否存在短路。依次测量电机三个霍尔输出引脚(如 HU、HV、HW)分别对 GND 的电阻,判断霍尔传感器是否损坏。
  5. 如果电机可自由旋转且连接良好但 E6 仍存在,可能是控制板驱动电路故障或电机霍尔 IC 损坏。室内风机电机和控制板都需要专业人员用示波器检测驱动波形和霍尔反馈信号。联系 GE 售后安排上门检修。

Meaning

E6 indicates an indoor unit fan motor fault. The indoor fan motor is typically a brushless DC motor (BLDC or PG motor), controlled via PWM signals from the control board and placed in a closed loop with Hall-effect sensor speed feedback. When the control board sends an operation command to the fan motor but receives no speed feedback signal within the expected period (motor does not turn), or the feedback speed is below 50% of the target, or the motor current is abnormal, the fan motor fault is declared and E6 is displayed. A non-operating indoor fan prevents effective heat exchange at the evaporator — although the compressor could theoretically run, the control board typically prohibits overall operation to prevent evaporator icing or compressor liquid slugging.

Common Causes

  1. The Hall sensor (PG pulse generator) inside the fan motor is damaged and cannot output the speed feedback pulse train to the control board.
  2. The fan motor bearing has dried out or seized; the motor hums when power is applied but the rotor does not turn, or the rotational resistance is extremely high.
  3. The motor winding is open or shorted — a BLDC motor has three-phase windings powered by driver MOSFETs; an open phase or inter-phase short will result in zero torque or severe vibration.
  4. The fan motor drive circuit (H-bridge or three-phase inverter) on the control board is faulty and cannot supply the correct drive voltage to the motor.
  5. The wiring harness connector between the motor and control board is loose, terminals are oxidized, or one of the signal wires (PWM, VCC, GND, FG/Hall) is broken.

Self-Check Steps

  1. Disconnect the air conditioner from power. Open the indoor unit panel and locate the indoor fan motor — typically the drive motor for a crossflow or tangential fan, located on the right side of the indoor unit.
  2. Spin the fan impeller by hand to check for smooth rotation. If resistance is very high or there is a rough grinding feel, the motor bearing may be seized.
  3. Unplug the connector between the fan motor and the control board; check the terminals for oxidation or corrosion. Clean with electronic contact cleaner and reconnect firmly.
  4. Measure the resistance between the motor power supply pins (typically VCC and GND) with a multimeter to check for short circuits. Then measure each of the three Hall sensor output pins (e.g., HU, HV, HW) against GND to determine whether the Hall sensors are damaged.
  5. If the motor spins freely and connections are sound but E6 persists, the control board drive circuit may be faulty, or the motor Hall IC is damaged. Diagnosis of indoor fan motor and control board requires an oscilloscope to examine drive waveforms and Hall feedback signals. Contact GE service to schedule an on-site visit.
