This code is triggered when the steam generator circuit detects a heating element anomaly or when the water level/temperature sensor feedback does not meet expectations. The washer can still run normal wash cycles, but the steam function is unavailable.

Common Causes

1. Scale buildup on the internal heating tube surface of the steam generator, reducing thermal efficiency and producing insufficient steam.
2. The steam generator’s water inlet solenoid valve is clogged or faulty, resulting in low water volume inside the generator and tripping the dry-heat protection.
3. The steam generator’s temperature sensor (NTC thermistor) has drifted, and the temperature feedback value does not match the actual temperature.
4. The steam line from the generator to the drum is clogged with scale or detergent residue.
5. The steam generator’s heating element coil has a partial open circuit, resulting in insufficient power to reach steam temperature within the specified time.

Self-Check Steps

1. This fault does not affect normal wash and spin cycles; the washer can continue to be used for regular laundry.
2. If you live in a hard-water area, periodically run a tub-clean cycle with a washing machine descaling agent to reduce scale buildup inside the steam generator.
3. When using the steam wash function, use standard HE (high-efficiency) detergent. Excessive use of conventional detergent will accelerate steam line clogging.
