Motor stall fault. The fan motor is blocked by foreign objects or the load is too high for normal startup — the unit enters a protective locked state.
Common Causes
- Foreign objects (toys, clothing, paper) sucked into the intake and jamming the fan
- Severely worn motor bearings causing rotor-to-stator friction
- Fan blade detached or warped, scraping against the housing
- Overly sensitive current detection circuit on the motor driver board triggering false stall protection
- Failed Hall sensor preventing the control board from detecting rotor position
Self-Check Steps
- Power off immediately, open the front panel, and inspect the intake and fan for foreign objects
- Manually spin the fan blade to check for free rotation — resistance indicates need for further cleaning
- Inspect fan blades for deformation, cracks, or breakage
- Remove hair and fiber buildup wrapped around the motor shaft
- If the error persists after clearing physical obstructions, inspect the motor driver board or replace the motor assembly
