4. Abnormal power supply voltage (too high or low) causing unstable operation and breakdown.
5. Abnormal PWM control signals from the main board causing IPM bridge arm shoot-through.

Self-Check Steps

1. Turn off A/C and disconnect outdoor unit power, wait 30 minutes for the inverter board capacitors to discharge.
2. E10 is a serious fault — do not attempt user repair. IPM replacement requires professional soldering equipment and ESD protection.
3. Check if the outdoor unit cooling environment can be improved (clear surrounding obstructions).
4. Measure the outdoor unit power supply voltage to confirm it is within normal range.
5. Contact service for on-site inspection of the inverter board and compressor windings — replace IPM or entire inverter board.
