自助排查

1. 等待 2-3 分钟让门锁 PTC 元件完全冷却。多数 GE 洗衣机在程序结束后设置约 90 秒的延迟解锁时间，这是正常现象。不要强行拉拽门把手。
2. 确认洗衣机已完全停止运转且显示屏无其他错误代码。选择单独的”排水/脱水”程序确保桶内已排空。桶内有水时门锁不会释放。
3. 拔掉电源插头等待 5 分钟，让门锁组件完全冷却复位。重新插电后控制器会执行初始化自检，可能自动清除锁闭状态。
4. 尝试将门向机身方向推紧以减轻锁舌与锁孔的摩擦力，同时操作门把手解锁。
5. 若以上方法均无法打开门，请勿强行撬门——这会损坏门锁和门框。通用电气多数前置式洗衣机设有底部紧急解锁拉索（位于前下方检修盖板内），手动拉动此拉索可机械解除门锁。若仍无法开启，请联系通用电气紧急售后服务。

Meaning

Error code E2 indicates a door unlock error. After the wash cycle completes, the main control board sends an unlock signal to the door lock assembly, but the lock’s PTC bimetal strip has cooled yet the latch bolt has not fully retracted, or the unlock confirmation signal is not received by the control board within the specified time. The washer door remains locked and the user cannot remove the laundry.

Common Causes

1. The door lock PTC element has not cooled sufficiently (the PTC is still hot immediately after the cycle), so the latch bolt has not fully released.
2. The internal mechanical linkage of the door lock assembly is binding, or the latch bolt return spring is aged or broken and cannot pull the bolt back to the unlocked position.
3. The washer still contains water in the drum after the cycle ends, the water level sensor has not returned to zero, and the controller refuses to unlock the door as a safety precaution.
4. Laundry inside the drum is pressing outward against the door, creating tension that increases friction between the latch bolt and the strike plate, preventing release.
5. The unlock signal wire in the door lock wiring harness is broken, so the unlock command cannot reach the door lock assembly.

Self-Check Steps

1. Wait 2–3 minutes for the door lock PTC element to cool completely. Most GE washers have a built-in unlock delay of approximately 90 seconds after the cycle ends — this is normal. Do not force the door handle.
2. Confirm the washer has fully stopped and no other error codes are displayed. Run a separate drain/spin cycle to ensure the drum is fully emptied. The door lock will not release while water remains in the drum.
3. Unplug the washer and wait 5 minutes to allow the door lock assembly to fully cool and reset. When you plug it back in, the controller will run an initialization self-test, which may automatically clear the locked state.
4. Try pushing the door toward the washer body to relieve friction between the latch bolt and the strike plate, then simultaneously operate the door handle to unlock.
5. If none of the above methods unlock the door, do not force it open with tools — this will damage the door lock and door frame. Most GE front-load washers have an emergency release cable located behind the lower front access panel; pulling this cable manually will mechanically release the door lock. If the door still cannot be opened, contact GE emergency after-sales service.
