1. Disconnect the AC from power, wait 3 minutes, then reconnect and start. Observe whether the fault code clears.
2. Check whether there is visible ice or frost on the indoor unit’s air outlet — if the evaporator is iced up along with the E2 code, abnormal sensor signals may have prevented the system from initiating anti-freeze protection in time.
3. Open the indoor unit front panel and visually inspect the coil temperature sensor (usually a slender probe embedded in the evaporator fins) for signs of breakage, rust, or detachment.
4. Clean the indoor unit filter to ensure normal airflow across the evaporator surface, preventing localized overcooling or overheating of the coil due to poor airflow that could cause sensor reading deviations.
