2. After startup, feel the evaporator and condenser temperatures (in cooling mode, the evaporator should be cold and the condenser hot).
3. Listen for abnormal compressor sounds (with insufficient refrigerant, the compressor load is lighter).
4. If a refrigerant leak is suspected, do not add refrigerant yourself; have a professional locate and repair the leak, then recharge to the specified amount.
