1. 压缩机排气温度传感器（NTC）本体损坏。

2. 检查室外机周围是否有遮挡物，清理冷凝器翅片上的灰尘和柳絮。
3. 听运行声音——压缩机运转但制冷效果差、排气管温度极高，提示可能缺制冷剂。
4. 检查室外机有无明显油渍——油渍通常出现在泄漏点附近。

The Konka air conditioner has detected an abnormal compressor discharge temperature sensor or excessively high discharge temperature. Error code E4 indicates that the outdoor main board detected an open/short circuit on the discharge pipe temperature sensor, or the discharge temperature exceeded the protection threshold (typically above 120°C). High compressor discharge temperature accelerates lubricant degradation and can lead to compressor seizure or burnout.

Common Causes

1. The compressor discharge temperature sensor (NTC) itself is damaged.
2. Refrigerant leakage has reduced the circulating refrigerant volume, causing abnormally high discharge temperature.
3. The outdoor condenser fins are dirty or obstructed, causing elevated system pressure and temperature.
4. Insufficient compressor oil or poor oil return, causing elevated internal compressor temperature.
5. Slippage in the four-way valve or a stuck check valve allows high-temperature, high-pressure gas to flow back to the compressor.
6. The discharge temperature sensor probe has shifted and no longer makes proper contact with the discharge pipe.

Self-Check Steps

1. Power cycle the AC — if E4 appears immediately, it indicates a hardware sensor fault; if it appears after some runtime, it suggests a heat dissipation issue or low refrigerant.
2. Check for obstructions around the outdoor unit and clean dust and cotton fibers from the condenser fins.
3. Listen while running — if the compressor is running but cooling is poor and the discharge pipe is extremely hot, this suggests low refrigerant.
4. Check for visible oil stains around the outdoor unit — oil typically appears near the leak point.
