F37 indicates a communication failure between the main control board (MCB) and the user interface (UI) / control panel / display board. The MCB cannot establish or maintain serial communication with the UI board. The washer may become unresponsive to button presses, and the display may be blank, frozen, or show garbled characters.
Common Causes
- Loose or poor connection of UI board wiring harness — connector not fully seated or terminal pins pushed back.
- Damaged UI board — moisture ingress causing corrosion, failed capacitors, or microcontroller damage.
- MCB communication circuit fault — failed serial interface components (pull-up resistors, optocouplers, level shifters).
- Electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage to UI board circuitry.
- Loose or damaged UI board ribbon cable / flexible flat cable (FFC) — connector not fully latched or cable torn.
- Open or short circuit in communication wiring — TX/RX lines shorted to each other or to ground.
Self-Check Steps
- Disconnect and reconnect all harness connectors between the UI board and the MCB, ensuring each latch clicks into place.
- Visually inspect the UI board for signs of water damage, corrosion, bulging components, or burn marks.
- Check both ends of the ribbon cable / flat flex cable between the UI board and MCB — ensure they are fully inserted and latched; inspect for tears or creases.
- Inspect harness connector terminals for oxidation, deformation, or pushed-back pins.
- If the above checks pass, suspect a failed UI board or MCB. Replace the UI board first (most common failure), or contact a qualified technician for further diagnosis.
